about

A breath is a life, the sound of a breath is a sound of life – well, except "...thy nervous system in operation and ...thy blood in circulation...“ when following Cage. This issue has resided in my acousmatic music world for a longer time now – without any particular plan or intention. How many times have I already come back to this material, which – for me – represents the fantastic conjunction of gesture, rhythm and intonation on the one hand and an act of man's will, or physiological necessity on the other.

Breath also, immediately, represents the inner - feelings, desires, inquietude, fears or other radical emotions. It is nonverbal communication, able to do more than superficial words. Is it possible to for a breath to be dishonest?

It is all in my breath, that which I am not able to formulate properly with words, what my words just cannot make. It is as if I hope breath will carry my information further, safely, better. There is faith, hope, desire and sadness in a breath too...

I borrowed the title of this piece from one of the greatest Czech baroque poems, written by Bedřich Bridel.
